The Honkai: Star Rail 4.2 “And So, All Beings Laugh Aloud” 3rd Anniversary version officially launched on April 22! Alongside the debut of new characters Silver Wolf LV.999 and Feiying, The Dahlia makes a powerful return in the first half of the version’s banner. The Dahlia is currently the most vital piece for the Firefly Break Team—her presence allows the Break system to consistently output Super Break DMG even before the enemy’s shield is fully broken, significantly raising the team’s damage ceiling. This guide will provide a comprehensive analysis of The Dahlia’s skill mechanics, best Light Cones, Relics, team comps, and Eidolons, along with pull recommendations.

The Dahlia is a 5-star Fire-Type character following the Path of Nihility, positioned as a core support for the Super Break system. Her role can be summarized in one sentence: She allows your Break DPS to consistently output Super Break DMG even when the enemy’s Toughness is not fully depleted. This is a revolutionary design in traditional Break teams, filling the output gap during the shield-break cooldown for DPS characters like Firefly.
The Dahlia’s backstory is deeply linked to Penacony, representing the mysterious entity “Constance,” leading Trailblazers to rediscover the truth behind memories and dreams. Beyond her striking background, her actual combat power was established as a T0 Super Break Support during her debut in version 3.8. The 4.2 rerun offers Firefly players who missed her a chance to complete their strongest team.
| Combat Type | Fire |
| Path | Nihility |
| Rarity | 5-Star (Limited) |
| Role | Super Break Core Support |
| Initial Release | 3.8 “Memory is the Prologue of Dreams” |
| 4.2 Rerun | Phase 1 (Alongside Firefly and Evanescia) |

The Dahlia’s core mechanics revolve around the “Co-dancer” and “Field” systems. Understanding these two is key to using her correctly.
Deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of The Dahlia’s ATK to a single enemy, with a Toughness Reduction of 10. Basic ATK is not core to her gameplay; prioritize using her Skill to maintain the Field.
The Dahlia’s core skill. Activates a Field for 3 turns. During this effect:
This skill is The Dahlia’s biggest selling point: she allows teammates to generate Super Break DMG while reducing the Toughness bar (even before the enemy is broken), solving the output downtime issue of traditional Break teams.
Inflicts the [Withered] state on all enemies (lasting 4 turns) and deals 300% ATK as Fire DMG (distributed among all enemies). [Withered] state effects:
The soul of The Dahlia’s kit. Upon entering battle, she regenerates 35 Energy and makes herself and “another ally who starts the battle” [Co-dancers]. [Co-dancer] mechanics:

The Dahlia’s three major Traces enhance her utility: Another Funeral—Upon entering battle, increases other characters’ Break Effect (equal to 24% of The Dahlia’s Break Effect + 50%) for 1 turn; triggers again when The Dahlia receives healing or a shield (lasts 3 turns). Mourning the Departed—When launching a Talent Follow-up Attack, every 2 hits recovers 1 Skill Point for the team. Discarding the Old, Loving the New—When an ally applies a Weakness, their SPD increases by 30% for 2 turns; Fire-type characters also gain fixed Toughness Reduction and recover 10% Energy (up to 50%), providing extra energy acceleration for Firefly.

The Dahlia’s signature Light Cone meets all her needs: Break Effect +60%, and upon entering battle, increases Break DMG by 32% for The Dahlia and the other Co-dancer. It also recovers 1 Skill Point whenever a Weakness is applied. This is the best long-term investment for her.
If the signature is unavailable, consider these (in order of priority): Lies in the Wind → Long Road to Return (Fugue’s signature, good stacking benefits) → Incessant Rain → Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat (4-star, but only one per team) → Solitary Healing / Fermata. Nihility Light Cone gaps are generally small for her; investment is better spent on Eidolons.
This is the only recommended set for The Dahlia, as she can boost teammates’ Break DMG based on her own Break Effect. Maximizing her Break Effect yields the highest returns.

| Part | Recommended Main Stat |
| Body | HP% or ATK% |
| Feet | SPD (Crucial!) |
| Planar Sphere | HP% or ATK% |
| Link Rope | Break Effect (Crucial!) |
Also the top choice for Planar Ornaments. Since her base HP is low, choosing HP% for the Body and Sphere can improve survivability without affecting output, as her damage doesn’t rely heavily on ATK stats.
The priority is clear: Break Effect / SPD >> Effect Hit Rate (to ensure Weakness application) > others. Aim for a SPD of 160+ to maintain a proper rhythm with Firefly.

Firefly + The Dahlia + Fugue/Harmony Trailblazer + Sustain (Fu Xuan, Asta, etc.) is currently the strongest Super Break configuration. The logic: Firefly is the main Break DPS, The Dahlia allows Firefly to burst Super Break DMG during Toughness reduction, and Fugue provides Break DMG amplification. A sustain is required to trigger the “Another Funeral” Trace.
If you don’t have Firefly, consider Rappa + The Dahlia + Fugue + Sustain. Rappa is a solid secondary Break DPS, though you lose the Fire-specific SPD and Energy buffs. Boothill can also work, but the overall efficiency is lower than the Firefly version.
⚠️ Important: The Dahlia’s team must include a Healer or Shielder to consistently trigger the Break Effect bonus from her “Another Funeral” Trace.

| Eidolon | Effect | Rating |
| E1: When a Flower is in Bud | Talent Super Break DMG applies to all; Co-dancer attacks deal extra 25% fixed Toughness Reduction | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High Value |
| E2: Newborn, Fresh, Pity | Reduces All-Type RES of all enemies by 20%; triggers [Withered] upon enemy entry | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Pure Fiction |
| E6: Yet It Is Always, Fatally Beautiful | Co-dancer Break Effect +150%; Follow-up attacks Advance Forward Co-dancers by 20% | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ultimate Power |
Investment Advice: E1 is extremely cost-effective, even surpassing some Light Cones. Priority: E1+S0 > E1+S1 > E2+S1. E6 is powerful but not necessary for most players.
Total materials needed for Level 80 and Max Traces:
| Material | Quantity | Source |
| Fragments of Thought | 56 | Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Perdition |
| Shards of Impression | 71 | Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Perdition |
| Mirrors of Desire | 73 | Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Perdition |
| Luminous Prominence | 65 | Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Ember |
| Fiery Spirit | 18 | Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility |
| Starfire Essence | 69 | Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility |
| Heaven-Incinerating Demon | 139 | Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility |
| Tracks of Destiny | 8 | Events / Embers Exchange |
| Credit | 3,888,100 | Various |
Trace Priority: Talent > Skill > Ultimate > Basic ATK (Keep Basic at Lv. 1). The Talent is the core source of damage and frequency.
The Dahlia is an indispensable core support for the Super Break system. Her Field skill rewrites the logic of Break teams, making Firefly’s output more continuous and explosive. The 4.2 Anniversary rerun is the perfect time to complete your Break team. Good luck, Trailblazers! May this journey lead us to the stars. ✨
