Diana, the robot girl from Capcom’s sci-fi action-adventure game Pragmata, has recently become the “star” of the company’s cross-title marketing. Following several surprise appearances since the game’s launch, she has now set her sights on Resident Evil—launching an “account hacking” operation that has captured the attention of the gaming community, becoming Capcom’s hottest marketing project today.

Before Diana officially made her move, the official Resident Evil X account posted a screenshot of Sherry with the caption: “Wait a minute, agents, it looks like someone is trying to hack in! But the signal source is… the Moon?” After setting the stage, the account’s profile picture was changed to a self-portrait of Diana, the location was set to Raccoon City, and the header image was replaced with Diana wearing the goggles of Victor, the protagonist of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, hacking in front of the Raccoon City sign.

Diana’s first post read: “I’ve never heard of ‘Resident Evil,’ so I’m going to collect a lot of data. It looks a bit scary, but Hugh told me to be brave!” This single sentence highlights her relationship with her partner, Hugh, making veteran players feel a sense of familiarity while allowing new players to quickly get to know the duo.

Next, Diana dug up the main antagonist of the Resident Evil series, the Umbrella Corporation. She initially took the name literally, thinking the company was related to umbrellas or parasols. However, after diving deeper into the data, she was shocked to find that Umbrella actually manufactures “various dangerous creatures and zombies.” She added that these zombies reminded her of the “Walkers” she and Hugh often fight in Pragmata, giving players a laugh while revisiting the game’s lore.

Diana then discovered the young character “Emily” from Resident Evil 9: Requiem and commented: “There seems to be a girl named Emily who is going through some very hard times… I really want to meet her and play together!” This post left many fans feeling both sympathetic and charmed—an eternally innocent robot girl wanting to comfort a girl suffering in a zombie world, announced directly on the Resident Evil account.

What excited players even more were the details in the account header: Diana is seen carrying the Great Sword from Monster Hunter Wilds, equipped with the gauntlets from Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and holding an egg from Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twin Dragons of Destiny. In other words, this header image is a massive “Easter egg bomb,” featuring gear from several of Capcom’s upcoming or recently released titles.

In response, some players joked that “Diana is basically a walking billboard for Capcom.” Others noted that this type of cross-title marketing is “more effective than any trailer,” sparking curiosity for both Pragmata and other new Capcom titles.
This marketing campaign quickly went viral on social media. Many players are hoping Diana will replicate this pattern, using her “in-game hacking” persona to “take over” other official Capcom accounts, such as those for Monster Hunter Wilds, Onimusha, or the Devil May Cry series.

Capcom has recently maintained high exposure for Pragmata through various cross-promotions, including collaborations and celebrating the game’s achievement of surpassing 1 million units sold within two days of launch. Diana’s high popularity is clearly becoming a powerful tool for Capcom’s cross-title interactions.
Pragmata is a sci-fi single-player action-adventure game from Capcom. The story follows a human character named “Hugh” and a robot girl named “Diana” as they survive in a lunar facility controlled by AI, searching for a way back to Earth. The game features hacking puzzles, exquisite graphics, and a father-daughter-like bond, earning an 86 on Metacritic and selling over 1 million copies in its first two days.

Editor’s Note: This hacking campaign is brilliant because it perfectly fits the character setting—Diana is a curious robot girl who takes everything literally. Seeing the world of Resident Evil through her eyes provides both humor and heart. Capcom’s marketing has become increasingly creative, and we look forward to seeing which Capcom universe Diana “hacks” next!
